Our story begins in New york City, New York. July 23rd 2013. The darkness of night had fallen over the great city. Night clubs blared music which was muffled by their walls. Cars drove around, horns honked, people laughed. It was the normal soundsof the massive city. Time Square was alive with people. Humans moved around in the late night hour. The air was warm and smelt of liquor. These things seemed norman here for this time of year and this hour of night. A creature could be seen walking against the humans. Her body pushed against the walls of the buildings she walked by. Her beautfiully chiseled head was held with pride as it always was. Carefully cropped ears were perked forward. She did not fear the humans. Not anymore. The humans weren't shit to her. She traveled alone. She needed some time but also she was on a mission. It was time to rebuild her pack and she had a small plan. Territory she claimed within the city happened to be a popular alley within the canine world. The alley inbetween the butcher's shop and a family owned business. The creature made her way into that alley. After these years old, now rusted, metal cages sat against the wall of the butcher's shop beside the dumpster. The smell of meat had replaced the human made scents yet thhey did not tempt the Dobemrna. Her belly was full of the fresh kills her and her friend had hunted. The female lifted herself up on the cages effortlessly. She then continued to turn and lay down. Her paws hanging off the edge of the cages. Herself hidden in the darkness, the streetlight giving enough light to make out her figure. She let out a huff before looking towards the sky. She looked into the stars as if looking for answers. Her head slowly returned to look at the world around her. Two years ago this alley had gave her some of this most loyal pack members, and friends she had ever met. Today she hoped for something similar. She knew lost freinds would never be replaced but it was time for new order... It was time for The Raging Souls to rage again...

Neon lights were bright outside, the scents of sweat, alcohol, food drifting through the air, human laughter and chatter, the vibrating beats of music pounding from loudspeakers outside of shops and homes of the Big Apple vibrated and seemed loud within the drainage pipe that a young dog family resided within. A mother dog lay within the drainage pipe with her two-week-old daughter lying next to her; the pup having black fur with white markings and spots; her muzzle being white with a thick white stripe going up her muzzle between her eyes. The stripe stopped an inch before the base of the pup's head; the pup asleep at the moment despite the noise outside. Onyx Sky Xavier was a Bodacian, a fancy name humans gave the dogs that were part Border Collie and part Dalmation; something they called a designer dog. There were stripes of white fur along Onyx's cheeks and her legs were white with large black spots upon them. The mother dog's head was raised, watching her other pup who was chasing his tail in circles of the den she and her mate had made, Inigo himself out scouting for food and danger for the dalamatian and his stepson. When the pup had worn himself out, he fell over as the drainage pipe began to spin around him with dizziness and the mother dog parted her maw to release a breathy chuckle. "Cobalt come away from the den entrance and lay down," she said to her son; also a purebred dalamatian like the mother dog and Ghost, Cobalt's father who had been bred with her to produce the youngster before her. The two-month-old pup had white fur with black spots like his sire and dam, the pup staggering to his feet and then stumbling over to his mother where he curled up beside his baby sister Onyx who was already asleep despite the sounds and lights that the pup could see in the distance. The family were near to the city so his stepfather, Inigo, could get food for them though Cobalt wasn't allowed out in case the dog catcher spotted the pup and took him away to be adopted by humans. The pup's stomach rumbled with hunger. "Mama is Inigo coming back with food?" the pup questioned in his bass Irish brogue. Laurel, for that was the mother dog's name, looked at Cobalt as he walked over to her and lay down beside his sister, giving the pup a tender lick on his head before going back to watch the den entrance for Inigo's return or strangers...whether dog or human. "He's busy looking for threats and food right now," said Laurel. "I'm sure he'll be back when he is sure there isn't any trouble and he has something for us but he can't risk leading other dogs or humans here." The pup nodded his head and snuggled close to his mother's belly, laying his head over Onyx's small body in an effort to keep the younger pup warm from the cold though once his stepfather came back and joined the family, they would be a lot warmer, especially as the days were growing colder with each day that passed due to the autumn season upon the city and the bit of countryside ouside the city limits. His mama and even his stepfather had explained that humans wouldn't hesitate to take Cobalt away from his family, perform behavior tests on him and then put him up for adoption which meant the pup would never see his family again. Cobalt didn't want that so was careful to go out only when his mama and stepfather could watch him and the surrounding area for danger.

The border collie was traversing the landscape of New York City, taking in the scents and sounds of the city. Neon lights blazed from signs and lights shone from billboards detailing human advertisments, clothing, makeup, organizations that would help humans in trouble. It was a place of bustling activity though the dog made his way to Times Square, a famous tourist attraction, where the ball was dropped every human new year on January 1st at midnight. The border collie pushed his way through the crowds of people walking around him, the bright lights blinding, the sounds of car horns and rushing wind of vehicles as they zoomed by on the paved streets between the shops lining the streets. The temperature was cold as autumn was upon the city though it didn't stop the tourists who came from every corner of the globe and across the country to visit New York City, not to mention the inhabitants who lived within the state of New York itself. The three-year-old border collie sat down at a crosswalk, waiting for the red light to turn on so he could cross the stree with the humans who didn't take notice of the herding dog among them. The stray was glad of this, he knew if he was picked up by a human that he wouldn't see his family again and Laurel couldn't hunt as she had to stay to watch her son and their daughter. The cars slowed and the crosswalk sign turned color, the humans beginning to walk across and the dog crossed with them, a hot dog chain wrapped around his neck and a roasted chicken within his maw as he made his way to the outskirts of the city to feed his mate and pups.

The doberman caught the scent of another canine before the slight. She lifted her head from his paws as his scent grew stronger. She figured the amount of time it would take the dog to cross the open alleyway before moving infront of the next building. As the canine grew closer she eft out a bark to hopefully stop him in his tracks. The female stoods from the metal cages but did not yet jump down from her throne. She could see the collie that was passing by her. She let out another bark yet stayed where she was. The collie reminded her quickly of her best friend, pack mate and beta female, Conga. A loyal compainion to the Doberman since day one.

Having reached the other side of the crosswalk, the dog continued on his way, passing an alley that he took no notice of as he made his way on a determined path, knowing that his mate would need all the food she could get to feed their daughter and his stepson as well would need food. The hot dogs had been stolen from a hot dog vendor, the roasted chicken stolen from where it was cooling upon a windowsill, the scent having attracted the border collie to the human dwelling. Only when a second bark sounded did the border collie stop within his tracks and turn his head to the side to look for the stranger only when he didn't see anything to his left he turned his head to his right to see a dog standing there...a tall muscular dog of the fighting breeds...a Doberman, one of the dogs humans' used for guarding their homes. The male's ears lifted slightly and he set the roasted chicken down, stepping over it with teeth bared that the food was his and he would fight to keep it that way. Other than the slight curling of his upper lip in warning about the food, he stood there making no forward movement towards the bitch in front of him. Seeing another dog within the city, one that had willingly called out to the herding dog was a surprise. Though he shouldn't have been surprised really. A city like New York City was bound to have stray cats and dogs wandering its streets, fighting over territory along with the pets that humans owned. His gaze bored into the female's as he waited to see what she wanted, his tail stiff behind him. The sooner this conversation or whatever was over with, the sooner he could return to his family. "May I help you?" the border collie articulated in his baritone vox, his English accent lying thick on his words.

Dropping herself back on ground level she now stood a few yards away. She looked over the herding dog as she watched him quickly become protective overhis food. His hackles rose but she did not offer and snarl, not even a growl. She could tell just her presences unnerved him slightly. "I don't want your food." She said in a quick, colder laced tone. She didn't move from position. Due to the amount of food e carried she knew he wasn't feeding just himself. keeping the"Must have a family? If you are interested in keeping them safe then I have a place for you..." Her voice trailed off. Her dialects held hints of a German accent even though she was native to American. She watched him carefully. She wasn't offering to be threatening but honsetly she always looked rather threathening. The Doberman was well known in the city throughout the world of strays and depending on how he reacted she would easily show him why she was feared yet she hoped that wasn't the outcome. If he had family then she more wanted him to join the pack than she originally did.

Seeing as she didn't make a move towards him to take the food he was guarding at the moment, which was accompanied by her words that she didn't want the meal, caused the male to view her still with suspicion. His gaze looked across the Doberman, noting the lack of collar and tags though it was possible she was microchipped but for all appearances she appeared to be another stray within this vast city. Just one of millions of dogs that were abandoned every year in this country. He was about to ask what she wanted specifically when she went to the point by asking if he had a family and hten saying she had a place for him...for his family as well. Still, Inigo had learned that other dogs couldn't be trusted at all when on the streets and had gotten into a few squabbles. "What type of place exactly?" Ingio questioned as he looked at the Doberman, a place of safety for his family making him consider whatever offer was being placed upon the table as the humans said. If this was a trap to lead him or his family to the humans, he would make sure the female regretted her actions, even if it took his life.

Seeing him stop guarding his meal she gave a nod so slight it could barely be seen. She could tell he was unsure. It would be quite odd for her if some random stray offered her the same thing. She could understand where he came from in the current situation. Yet she kept her calm and collected manner. Listening to the question he asked next her cropped ears perked forward a bit more than what they already had. "A home, not far from where we stand. My pack has called it home for years. Humans don't bother us. I've had families raise their pups here before. It would be safe." She paused for a moment. "You are welcome to come see before you bring your family." Her german laced dialects continued before stopping her deal to see what he had to say.

The border collie listened to the Doberman's words, still uncertain as to whether to trust her or not. It could be a trap for all the male knew. Still, there was the possiblity that she was lying, yet Inigo couldn't sense any ill intentions towards him and he didn't scent any other dogs in the area aside from the two of them. Shifting his weight slightly, the male dipped his head in the affirmative. He would see about this 'home' and if it was safe for his family. Stepping back to reveal the chicken, he parted his jaws enough to articulate a simple sentence "I will see what you have to offer," he said before picking up the roasted chicken in his maw again and nodding to the female to lead the way.

The Great female watched his actions as he thought about her offer. When he accepted she nodded. "Wonderful.. Come along." He allowed him time to grab his meal before stepping out into the sidewalk and leading him homeward. The Doberman had made th trip so many times that it seemed as if it had became something so natural. Walking into the outskrits of town, she lead him past tons of abandoned buildings until the came across a warehouse surrounded by old fencing that set off the road. She walked along the fence line until a gap in the fence was seen. From there she crawled under the fence and lead him towards the warehouse. The warehouse was old, the outside walls beginning to rust. Lots of the windows were broken but the roof was in decent repair. The female lead him to a door that would grant them enterance. She stopped for a moment to look back to him to see if the collie had anything to say.

The border collie couldn't say anything, so just followed the female through the city into the outskirts. Over sidewalk and past abandoned building, the male's eyes darting about him to keep on watch for humans who might be on the lookout for stray dogs or cats. The male shook his head as he walked, his nails clicking on the cement and then the pavement. Soon they would walk along a fence line and he would push the chicken through before squeezing in after the Doberman through the hole in the fence. He then looked up to see a large building with broken windows and a roof that was in good repair and seemed mostly intact. Picking up the the chicken he walked forward, still staring at the building as it loomed before him and stopped at the entrance. Seeing a door, the dog pushed it open with his forehead before walking inside and looking around, standing in the way of the Doberman. He set the chicken down again and sniffed the air. "Who all lives here?" he questioned.

She allowed the brute to push open in door and let himself into the warehouse. The Doberman watched him carefully as he looked around but did not let her around him. She did not push to get by but instead stayed where she was. When he asked of who else was here she allowed a moment to pass between the two before responding. "Well it was once the home of the largest, and greatest dog pack hat ever lived." She paused for a moment as she seen movement before him. They had seemed to catch the interest of the Beta. Her maw curled into a small smile at her slight before finishing her speech. "Now its just me and her." He nodded his head towards the female collie who approached.

Inigo continued to look around him, listening as the female spoke before him abot there once being a large and great dog pack; the male emmiting a scoff from his larnax. All alphas thought their pack was the greatest, even among the humans, they were always bickering which nation was better than the countless others. A sound caught his attention as he sniffed the air and a collie approached him from somewhere unknown to the border collie. His lip curled up again in warning and his hackles rose at this female to stay away from his meal. "What happened to the rest of your... pack?" he questioned after some hesitation.

The female watched as he gave Conga the same snarl as he had greeted her with but she decided not to comment on that. Neither of the females wanted his meal for they had enough prey to hunt on their own. The doberman's ears perked forward when he spoke of his question. Her heart seemed to fall out of her chest and hit the ground. She looked away from him for a moment as she thought on just how to answer his question. "What hasn't happened to the pack would be an easier question for me to answer..." She finally scoffed out. The Doberman's emotionless eyes looked back towards the two collies but her eyes landed more on the female. The only one left of the originals. She took in a breath and allowed it to escape her lungs before speaking again. "Wars between the humans, the wolves, other packs. Famine, a great move, a return." She looked back to the male collie. "Death.."

Inigo couldn't help being hostile towards the two females, he did have a family to care for after all and no duties to anyone else. Even if he 'joined' this pack of two dogs with his family, his family would come first and then the pack. The male shook his head as he listened to the Doberman female speak behind him, his eyes remaining on the thus far, silent collie that looked like his own coloring and breed. She certainly wasn't a Lassie! Listening to the words, the male shook his head before turning his head over his shoulder to look at the female Doberman, the 'alpha' of this pack of two. "The last bit sounds like a prophecy or vision," Inigo said, having heard humans say such words before.

Aroused by the scents and voices carried into the warehouse, one familiar and one foreign to her, the demoness emerged from the shadows of the emaciated structure. Though it was more of a mess than it had been when they had first lived in it years ago the warehouse was the closest thing any of the Raging Souls had ever had to a home and the pack had been their family, through thick and thin and through life and death. Death… there had been such an abundant amount of it among their pack, so many friends and lovers lost to those cold and greedy hands. That was life for a stray, you lived and you died and all you could hope for was that the life you managed to live was worth something, and that you didn’t just throw it away. The idea of a meaningless death had always haunted her. She had always been the one to throw herself in front of others to protect them, and yet she was still alive when everyone she had ever loved was dead but Tempest. Her Queen was all she had left, her and the idea of the Raging Souls reclaiming the glory that had once been theirs. The dame finally allowed her voice to speak at his next statement. “It is nothing but our forsaken history, the future is unwritten.”

Finally, the female after staring at him for what seemed like forever, parted her jaws and spoke about the future being unwritten adn something about the history being forsaken; the former part not making sense to the male border collie at all. "Do the humans know of you existence here?" he questioned Conga, wanting to hear her words on the matter. "How big is this place exactly?"

Resting her fiery amber occuli on the hessian she allowed her dublets to perk at his words, listening intently to his inquiry. “This place has been long since abandoned by humans. It is rare for one to brave entering our domain, especially since there is nothing here for them.” The dame paused for a moment before continuing on to answer his second question that had been directed at her. “Considering it is a warehouse it is relatively large and has easily housed our pack when it was at its prime in the past. Our domain also stretches far beyond just this building, for we have quite a vast amount of territory still claimed, including valuable hunting grounds.”

Again te male was silent as he listened to such information coming from the female of his breed though he wasn't sure was truthful about there being hunting grounds within the area. It was a city, what hunting grounds could there possibly be where humnans wouldn't be found? But if htey said it was safe from humans then it was good for his family. "I'll be back," he said before grabbing the roasted chicken and leaving the warehouse without another word, pulling himself through the hole in the fence and vanishing towards his den.

Laurel had continued to watch the drainage pipe opening in case her mate returned to her and her pups, Cobalt having fallen asleep against his mother while they waited for a potential meal to be had. Minutes passed and there was no sign of her mate anywhere within scent or sight. She wasn't sure if he had been spotted by humans and captured or if he had been hit by a car while walking the busy roads of the Big Apple but she was worried and considering leaving the den to look for her mate. Soon though she picked up on his aroma of pine and tar as he came towards the den and got up before padding towards the den entrance. Nuzzling her mate's neck as best she could with the hot dog chain wrapped around his neck, an obvious meal with the chicken in his mouth she stepped back to watch him set the chicken down and explain that he had been stopped by a Doberman who was one of two dogs who ran a pack together, a border collie female being the beta of said pack that was nothing but a couple females pretending. The female snorted in disbelief but his mention that they lived in a warehouse that was big enough to hold the family and safe from humans caused her to look back at her pups before nodding. "Very well. We'll join, but only for their safety." Turning she made her way to her pups before nudging Cobalt to his paws, explaining Inigo had found a new home for them that didn't have any humans in it before picking up Onyx in her jaws and leaving the den with Cobalt following behind her. Once outside, she pushed her son between her and Inigo and the male led them back to the warehouse where this pack was located.
